ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Zach Wilson was in full uniform in the New York Jets locker room long after the game, getting some words of encouragement from tight end Tyler Conklin and some of his teammates.Even though the Jets had just lost 30-10 to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, with Wilson thrust back into the starting role after four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers tore his left Achilles four snaps in the season opener a week earlier, they don’t see the same young quarterback who struggled so much the past two years. “He’s a completely different player, in my opinion. Going through his reads, sitting in the pocket. I mean, they have a good D-line. They create a lot of pressure,” Conklin said. “We have complete trust and faith in him. … We’re going to keep making sure he knows we got his back.”Plus, Wilson and the Jets (1-1) really didn’t get a lot of chances on offense. They had the ball for less than 18 minutes, and the three interceptions in the fourth quarter occurred w...Fortinet Championship Scores

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — More than a few San Francisco 49ers acknowledged they didn’t know a whole lot about many of the unsung players going against them for the rebuilding Los Angeles Rams. The Niners learned a bit more than they wanted to know Sunday while the Rams forced the Super Bowl contenders to dig deep to extend their remarkable winning streak in this rivalry.Brock Purdy passed for 206 yards and ran for an early touchdown, Deebo Samuel rushed for an 11-yard TD with 11:28 left and San Francisco hung on for its ninth consecutive regular-season win over Los Angeles, 30-23.Christian McCaffrey rushed for 116 yards and a score for the 49ers (2-0), whose only loss to the Rams since December 2018 was in the NFC championship game in January 2022. The Niners couldn’t pull away this time, but Isaiah Oliver and Deommodore Lenoir intercepted passes by Matthew Stafford in the second half to finish off the Rams.“I feel like those guys, a lot of them, you don’t know them,...Prescott has 2 TDs, Wilson 3 picks in 1st start after Rodgers injury as Cowboys beat Jets 30-10

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — CeeDee Lamb went into the home opener for the Cowboys without new sidekick Brandin Cooks, who injured a knee in his Dallas debut a week earlier. The team’s No. 1 receiver didn’t need a lot of help.Lamb set up both of Dak Prescott’s touchdown passes with big plays, Brandon Aubrey kicked five field goals in the 28-year-old rookie’s home debut, and the Cowboys beat the New York Jets 30-10 on Sunday.Zach Wilson threw three interceptions in his first start since Aaron Rodgers’ season-ending Achilles tendon injury as the Cowboys (2-0) finished a season-opening sweep of the New York teams. Dallas opened with a 40-0 rout of the NFC East rival Giants, while the Jets (1-1) were coming off an emotional overtime win over Buffalo after Rodgers was injured on the fourth snap of his New York debut.“I like how we’ve done it in different ways, so that’s good,” Dallas owner/general manager Jerry Jones said. “I do feel very good about that. GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — On the first play of the second half, New York quarterback Daniel Jones dropped back and heaved a 58-yard completion to rookie Jalin Hyatt over the middle of the field. The Giants had played some historically awful football this season until that moment. Instead of pouting, they started executing.Jones threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns, Graham Gano connected on a 34-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining, and the Giants rallied from a 21-point third-quarter deficit to stun the Arizona Cardinals 31-28 on Sunday.“It’s about execution,” Jones said. “You can’t really afford to get emotional or think about anything outside of what your job is, and that’s to execute, focus on one play at a time and be in that play.”It was the biggest comeback win for the Giants since a 21-point rally in 1949 — also against the Cardinals. Arizona blew its biggest lead since 2011.The Giants (1-1) lost 40-0 in Week 1 against the Cowboys and didn’t look mu...Opinion: Competition commissioner’s challenge to Rogers-Shaw merger wasn’t a waste of taxpayer money

Jennifer Quaid, L’Université d’Ottawa/University of OttawaMonths after rejecting the Commissioner of Competition’s application to challenge the merger between Rogers and Shaw Communications, the Competition Tribunal ordered the commissioner to pay nearly $13 million in costs to Rogers and Shaw.On Aug. 28, the tribunal ruled that the commissioner’s approach to block the merger was “unreasonable,” although the Competition Bureau stands by its decision to challenge it.Since the costs will be covered by the Competition Bureau’s tax-funded budget, some think the commissioner was wrong to challenge the merger. They argue the tribunal’s decision shows that Commissioner Matthew Boswell’s approach is ineffective and should be abandoned. However, this interpretation is incorrect. Awarding costs is not an indictment of the losing party. Typically in cases like this, the winner receives some compensation for the expenses they incurred while presenting their case. The losing party is required to ...Woman lying in Aurora hospital parking lot run over, killed
