DENVER (KDVR) — For some people, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is an unofficial nationwide holiday where people go out with their hometown friends and family.The Colorado Department of Transportation refers to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving as "Blackout Wednesday," where an overconsumption of alcohol can happen.To prevent impaired driving during the holiday, CDOT, the Governors Highway Safety Association and Uber are providing $10 Uber ride credits to Coloradans statewide. These places need volunteers for Thanksgiving in Denver To date, almost 200 traffic deaths involving impaired driving occurred in Colorado just this year. The Hollywood Police Department has issued a warrant for a 63-year-old man in connection with a case of False Imprisonment. Officers are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Adolfo Fonseca, who was last seen driving a 2014 Red Hyundai Elantra.According to police, the incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon around 1 p.m. at 5950 Sheridan Street when officers responded to reports of a suspect who fled the scene with a child inside the car. The investigation revealed that Fonseca and a woman were involved in an argument. Fonseca drove off with the child still inside when the woman exited the vehicle, police said in a news release. Shortly afterward, officers responded to 4599 Sheridan Street, where the child, still in a car seat, was reportedly found at a store. The suspect had fled before the police arrived. CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WSVN) – Deputies from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested a 39-year-old Florida woman who had an active warrant for her arrest, officials said. According to authorities, Stacy Usher, wanted for violation of probation related to the sale of fentanyl and unlawful use of a two-way communication device, attempted to evade arrest by hiding in her residence. (CNN) — The two occupants of a car that exploded Wednesday at the US-Canada Rainbow Bridge border crossing are dead, a law enforcement source told CNN.The incident occurred shortly before noon when a car coming from the Canadian side of the border on the bridge connecting Canada to New York State went through the initial checkpoint passports and licenses are examined. The car was then was directed to another area for a secondary search, according to multiple law enforcement sources.As the car was heading towards the secondary search area, an explosion occurred, the sources said. BOSTON (AP) — A former college track and field coach accused of setting up sham social media and email accounts in an attempt to trick women into sending him nude or semi-nude photos of themselves pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston, prosecutors said Tuesday.Steve Waithe, 30, of Chicago, pleaded guilty to 12 counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit computer fraud and one count of computer fraud, prosecutors said.Waithe also pleaded guilty to cyberstalking one victim through text messages and direct messages sent via social media, as well as by hacking into her Snapchat account, prosecutors said.A lawyer for Waithe did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.Sentencing is scheduled for March 6, 2024.
